"The team understood our niche instantly — and treated our growth like their own."
Cryotherapy is still new to Japan, so most people don't even know what to search for. The team built a strategy that educated our audience while bringing in customers ready to book. Our reservations from organic search have more than tripled.

The Challenge
CRYO TOKYO® is Japan's only cryotherapy specialty salon — a first-mover in a market where the treatment itself is still unfamiliar. That created an unusual SEO problem: low direct demand for the brand's core term, high demand for the problems it solves (fatigue recovery, jet lag, sleep, beauty, athletic performance), and growing competition from gyms, esthetic salons, and clinics adding "cryo" services.
The website was attracting some organic interest, but growth was limited because:
- Core treatment pages (Cryo Ice Sauna, PEMF, pricing, reservation) were not consistently ranking for high-intent “near me / price / booking” searches in either English or Japanese.
- Authority for competitive wellness keywords (“cryotherapy Tokyo”, “アイスサウナ 東京”, “recovery studio Tokyo”) was not strong enough to produce stable, long-term ranking traction against clinic directories and big media sites.
Solution
Over the full 12-month engagement, we executed a complete SEO program — built for both rankings and qualified reservation enquiries.
Technical SEO & Site Cleanup
We fixed crawl and indexation issues, restructured URLs, implemented proper hreflang for Japanese and English pages, added LocalBusiness schema, and improved Core Web Vitals for mobile-first users.
Local Search Optimization
We optimized the Google Business Profile, built consistent local citations, and created location-focused landing pages targeting "cryotherapy Azabu," "ice sauna Tokyo," and nearby district searches.
Content Strategy & Education
We built an editorial hub answering beginner questions — what cryotherapy is, benefits, safety, and recovery science — turning informational searches into first-time reservations for Ice Sauna and PEMF sessions.
Multilingual & Authority Growth
We expanded English-language pages for Tokyo's expat and tourist audience, and earned links from wellness, fitness, and sports-recovery publications to strengthen domain authority.
The Results (Monthly Momentum)
Across the 12 months, visibility didn’t just grow—it became more consistent.
Early months focused on technical fixes and bilingual site structure, removing barriers to indexation.
Mid-phase prioritized local landing pages and educational content to convert searches into reservations.
Later months emphasized authority growth and expanding keyword coverage across Japanese and English queries.
Proof of Impact (Traffic + Rankings)
- Core service pages (Ice Sauna, PEMF, pricing, access) were not consistently ranking for high-intent booking searches like “cryotherapy Tokyo” and “アイスサウナ 東京“.
- Search engines weren’t fully interpreting the site’s bilingual structure and relevance across audiences (Japanese locals vs. expats vs. visiting athletes).
- Content didn’t always answer the deeper “decision questions” first-timers ask before they book—like safety, what a session feels like, session duration, and who cryotherapy is right for.
- Authority for competitive wellness and recovery keywords was not strong enough to produce stable, long-term ranking traction in the Tokyo market.
Why It Worked
This success came from treating SEO as a pipeline:
- Technical clarity made both Japanese and English pages discoverable
- Intent-driven content matched how first-time customers research and decide
- local authority and structure helped the site earn rankings that last
- Improved on-page guidance increased the chances of organic visitors becoming reservations.
